Frequently Asked Questions

Franchising Questions

When considering a franchise opportunity, you’ll want to research the brand to gauge how well it’s known. We encourage candidates to ask their friends and neighbors about iSmash to measure the awareness of the brand in their desired market.

In addition to speaking with members of the community, candidates should conduct an internet search and check social media to assess the local awareness of iSMASH. Candidates should also check for customer reputation and franchisee reviews.

iSMASH has been operating its original company-owned location (originally called “Smash Therapy”) in Rochester, New York since 2018. Our second location opened in Syracuse, New York in 2021, the same year we began franchising.

Before buying a franchise, candidates should first verify that there are opportunities available in their desired geographic market. Contact us if you’re interested in learning more about how to start an iSmash franchise in your area.

When looking to buy an iSMASH franchise, we advise our candidates to choose a space that is between 3,000 and 6,000 square feet and located in a high-traffic retail commercial location. We have partnerships with real estate brokers and architects to assist you during this process.

Check out our Available Opportunities for more information.

With your staff of retail associates, usually about 6-10 part-timers per location, you’ll be working each day to create unique and memorable experiences for your customers. You’ll receive franchise training and support from industry experts who are just as connected to iSMASH as you and your staff.

To help ensure our franchisees get on the path to success, you’ll be required to complete our initial training program which includes attendance for two days at an existing iSmash training facility.

When looking into a franchise, find out how much control you’ll have over day-to-day operations, which varies from concept to concept. At iSMASH, our franchisees are buying into a proven system.

The franchisee maintains our standards and is the face of the company on the local level. We’re always looking to improve, and we listen to our franchisees for ideas on how to make our brand stronger. However, all ideas must apply to our brand as a whole, and we make no compromises when it comes to the safety of our customers.

After opening, most franchisees need some time developing an understanding of what works and what doesn’t. Once they’ve built a solid foundation, franchisees can start to get creative. For instance, all franchisees must offer standard smash session packages, but franchisees are in charge of their pricing, promotional discounts, and group/party offerings.

Franchisees also have flexibility when it comes to customizing their locations, and have the power to create their own iSMASH design theme, so long as it adheres to our requirements. When building their teams, franchisees also have complete control over managing staff and can determine whom to hire and schedule as they see fit.

These are only some of the many ways franchisees can run their businesses. Contact us for more information about what you can do with your own iSmash franchise.

Training & Support Questions

When owning a franchise, you don’t always want to go it all alone. That’s why iSMASH provides franchisees with all the tools and resources needed for success. As soon as you sign a franchise agreement, our team springs into action to help you get on the road to success.

Our ultimate goal is to minimize the time between signing on the dotted line and opening your doors. But the support doesn’t end when the lease is signed. Our support team is available whenever needed to provide ongoing assistance with pre-opening, operations, marketing, IT, human resources, and more.

We offer a comprehensive initial training program comprising self-guided, online learning modules, live training webinars, and onsite training at an existing iSMASH location. The initial training is conducted by the founder of iSMASH and covers everything you need to successfully open and operate a franchise, including pre-opening, day-to-day operations, marketing, employee management, IT, and more. You can complete 90% of the initial training program from the comfort of your home and at your own pace.

Our response rates are excellent, and franchisees receive a level of support in all aspects of their business that is the highest in the industry. iSmash walks franchisees through every step of owning a franchise while still allowing them latitude to adapt our systems in a way that best suits their individual markets.

Yes, iSMASH provides franchisees with tools and resources for employee recruitment and engagement as well as the hiring and firing process. However, franchisees are solely responsible for managing their employees.

We connect new owners with financial advisers during the initial stage of buying the franchise. Financial advisers help guide franchisees as they determine the best ways to finance their locations. However, franchisees are solely responsible for managing their own finances.

Our partnerships with suppliers will not only help you get the best deals to equip your location but also provide discounts to your employees, helping you to attract and keep local talent.

As an iSMASH franchisee, you’ll receive robust marketing support from the franchisor. In addition to our comprehensive marketing manual, which breaks down everything you need to know about how to market your business, you’ll get dedicated support from our team for your grand opening marketing, and we’ll even manage your digital marketing and social media campaigns for you.

Financial Questions

To be considered for an iSmash franchise opportunity, you must have a minimum net worth of $250,000 and at least $100,000 of that must be liquid assets (which can be the sum of the assets of a group of investors). The average total investment to open a single iSmash location ranges from $171,523 – $563,855. If you meet the requirements and need financing to open your franchise, one of our financial partners can help you find solutions to fund your business.

We can’t predict how much you’ll earn owning an iSmash franchise, and according to the FTC we cannot legally promise prospective franchisees how much money they can make. But we can provide you with information on our business model and the opportunity to talk to current franchisees and our corporate executives so you can perform your due diligence. Our goal is to give you the resources you need to analyze all of the possibilities iSmash franchise ownership offers.

iSmash collects a royalty of just 6.00%, exclusive of payment processing fees. Royalties are deducted automatically from bookings and other sales made through our online ordering system. You can learn more by requesting our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD).
